Police inaugurates volleyball tournament at Kangan G’ bal

Srinagar : Police in Ganderbal on Wednesday inaugurated a Volleyball Tournament at Kangan on the directions of SSP Ganderbal Nikhil Borkar in which 16 teams belonging to different areas of the District will participate.
According to a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar, the tournament was inaugurated by ASP Ganderbal Feroz Yeyha who was accompanied by SDPO Kangan Muzaffar Jan. During his inaugural address, ASP Ganderbal appreciated the teams for taking part in the sports event. He also laid stressed upon the young & budding players of the district to allow their minds to explore their own thoughts and imagination through the medium of sports. The inaugural match was played between Chattergul Vs Cheerwan, which was won by Chattergul by 2:0.
Police said that Ganderbal Police is organising different sports events, like volleyball tournament, football tournament, cultural programmes, and other Co-curricular activities in the district for upliftment of sports among the youth. The main aim & motive of organising such events is to develop brotherhood, love, and peace & keeping youth away from the menace of drugs.
