Srinagar: A top officer of the Border Security Force on Wednesday said they have been successful in stopping infiltration and the border has been made impossible to pass through.
Additional DG BSF (Western Command), P V Rama Sastry, Chandigarh, was speaking to reporters after a passing out parade of fresh recruits at the BSF’s Subsidiary Training Centre (STC) in Srinagar outskirts. He was the chief guest at the parade.
The senior BSF officer said border guarding is a very important role for any country’s internal security and the force has been playing this role very successfully.
“If there is any attempt to infiltrate to this side, we will take lawful action against the infiltrators. We have definitely been successful in stopping infiltration from the ground and also to prevent any misadventure, any attempt, to use underground mechanisms also. We have controlled the situation,” Sastry said. “We have made the borders impenetrable so that the forces which are fighting the militancy, their hands are strengthened.”
Sastry said the BSF which guards borders is alert 24/7 and will foil any misadventure against the country.
“Guarding the borders is one of the important tasks to provide internal security to a country and particularly for the BSF who are guarding the nation’s borders from 1965,” he said
Additional DG BSF claimed that there has been a decline in drone activity along the border. The drones have been used to smuggle weapons and narcotics from across.
“For the last three-four years, they have been using drones. But, we have achieved good successes in tackling drones.. … There has been a decline in such incidents, and I think, in the future, we will be successful in totally controlling it,” the BSF officer said.
Earlier a passing out parade and attestation ceremony of Constable (Tradesmen) was held at Subsidiary Training Centre, BSF, Humhama, in which 119 recruits passed out to join BSF as brave Seema Prahari. The trainees hail from all over the Country.
While addressing the newly 119 recruits Sastry said that the force men played a pivotal role in eliminating the militancy from Jammu and Kashmir and Punjab with valour.
