2 militant associates of LeT arrested in Baramulla

Srinagar: Security forces arrested two militant associates in Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla district, police said on Tuesday.

They said the two associated with banned Lashkar-e-Taiba’s shadow group The Resistance Front were arrested during a cordon and a search operation (CASO) which was launched by Police and CRPF in village Monchkhud Kunzer following a specific information.

During CASO two suspects identified as Khurshid Ahmad Khan and Reyaz Ahmad Khan, both residents of Zandpal Kunzer were apprehended.

“During questioning both suspects revealed that they are working as terrorist associates with banned terrorist outfit LeT (TRF),” police said

From their possession two AK 47 magazines, 15 rounds of AK 47 and 20 posters of LeT (TRF) were recovered, they said.

“The terrorist associate obtained these illegal ammunition with intent to carry out terrorist activities in Kunzer and adjacent areas,” police said, adding a case under sections of Arms and UA (P) Act was registered in Police station Kunzer and investigation set in motion.
