New Delhi: Former Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi Manish Sisodia who was arrested on allegations of corruption in Delhi Liquor policy case on Friday moved bail application before the Special Court of MP/MLA cases. The ball applications will be heard tomorrow.
CBI Special Judge MK Nagpal granted five days CBI custody of Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Monday in corruption case till March, 04.
Sisodia had moved the Supreme Court against the order of CBI Special Judge but the Apex Court refused to entertain the petition by pointing out that he had sufficient legal remedies before approaching the highest court of the country so can make all points before the High Court.
Sisodia was arrested by Investigating Agency on February 26 after about eight hours of questioning on various aspects of the excise policy for 2021-22. According to Investigating Agency the excise policy suffered from irregularities both in its formulation and implementation.
Government Counsel for CBI requested five days police remand of Sisodia by submitting that he is not cooperating and evasive in his replies, so five days of CBI custody was required. The same was opposed by the Counsel for Sisodia by submitting that Lt. Governor gave nod for the policy so everything has done with the permission of Lt. Governor.
