Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Thursday claimed to have arrested four drug peddlers in Kashmir and recovered contraband substances from them.
A police party of Police Station Qazigund at a checkpoint established at Dalwach Crossing intercepted two suspected persons identified as Maqsood Ahmad Naikoo resident of Nussu Qazigund and Fayaz Ahmad Dar of Tachloo Qaimoh.
During checking, 220 grams of Charas and 3 grams of Heroin were recovered from their possession. They have been arrested and shifted to a police station where they remain in custody, Police said.
Similarly in Baramulla, a police party of Tangmarg at a checkpoint established at Khaipora Crossing arrested a drug peddler identified as Abdul Rehman Dar a resident of Nadirgund Khaipora Tangmarg and recovered 180 grams of Charas from his possession.
Meanwhile in another action, a police party of Mirgund at a checkpoint established at Mirgund Crossing Pattan in Baramulla district arrested a drug peddler identified as Manzoor Ahmad Ganie resident of Sozeth Lawaypora and recovered 120 grams of Charas from his possession.
Accordingly, cases under relevant sections of law have been registered in respective police stations and investigations have been initiated, a police added.
