Shimla: Sixty days long closure of Barmana and Darlaghat Cement plants by Adani group couldn’t be sorted out by the state government.
Chief minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu held a consultation meeting with Truck union at state Secteriat on Monday. He said that issue is likely be sort out soon.
He informed media persons that the issue would be resolved by today or tomorrow, regarding the opening of cement factories in Barmana of Bilaspur and Darlaghat of Solan district, which were suddenly closed by the Adani group on the pretext of high freight charges on December 15 2022.
Earlier, the operators chalked out their strategy at Shalaghat this afternoon and resolve to demonstrate in the future if dead lock continue. A team of truck operators has also left to Delhi to arrange meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and home minister Amit Shah. They leave from Shimla while another team hold talk with other truck unions this evening. Truck operators are seeking Rs 10.50 tonne per kilometre freight of cement transportation.
