Jammu: Acting on several complaints regarding overcharging by some cyber cafes, Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Avny Lavasa on Tuesday asked them to display a rate list otherwise defaulters will face action.
In an order issued by Additional District Magistrate, Sandeep Seointra on behalf of the Deputy Commissioner read, “keeping in view frequent complaints regarding overcharging by some cyber-cafes with respect to applying online for availing different services, particularly in the tehsil jurisdictions of Jammu Khas, Bahu and Jammu South of District Jammu, it is hereby ordered that all the cyber-cafes shall display the rate list duly notified by this office in front of their premises for information of the general public.”
“Moreover, they are strictly informed to refrain from over-charging henceforth. In the event of any reported incident regarding overcharging with respect to applying online for availing different services, appropriate action shall be initiated against the defaulters,” read an order.
It further read that any person aggrieved by such over-charging may contact on 0191-2571616.
However, the rate list was also enclosed with an order.
