Be messengers of peace: J&K Sports Council Officio to Pencak Silat team

Jammu: While flagging off the contingent of Pencak Silat teams in boys and girls for the Federation Cup to be held at Goa, Divisional Sports Officer, J&K Sports Council Ashok Singh on Monday asked the players to be messengers of peace and prosperity.

As per official communiqué, players selected on the bases of their performance will showcase their skills in Tungal, Regu, Ganda, and Tanding in the Federation Cup scheduled at Goa from January 19-21.

Showing his good wishes, the Divisional Sports Officer urged the UT players to exhibit a high standard of discipline and cooperation during the days of championship.

He also urged all the players to observe and learn through the event and pen it down for knowledge to refine themselves.

“You are the future of the Nation and you all together have to build a new Nation and that will only be possible when you inculcate in yourself the values of life, team spirit, discipline,” he said.

He also made an appeal to players to act as ambassadors to disseminate the message of peace, prosperity and brotherhood before and after reaching the medal podium.

Senior player Ravees and other members of the Pencak Silat Association were present at the flag- off ceremony which took place at Railway station Jammu today.
