Two J&K boxers qualify for semis of national boxing C’ship

Jammu: Scripting history two boxers from Jammu and Kashmir have sailed into the semifinals of the ongoing National Boxing Championship at Haryana.
As per reports reaching here, boxer Chander Dev Singh (75 to 80 kg) and Aarif Wani (48 to 50 kg) have reached the semifinal round of the national championship underway at Haryana from December 31 and will conclude on January 6.
Aarif Wani defeated Mohit Singh of Maharashtra (5-0) and Chander Dev Singh defeated Suraj Chand of Uttrakhand (5-3).
Trainees of Senior Coach Anil Wadhera, J&K Sports Council, the boxers are being trained at Maulana Azad Stadium, Jammu.
