England concern as captain Kane faces scan

Doha: England hold their breath as captain Harry Kane to undergo a scan on his right ankle on Wednesday before Friday’s World Cup game with the United States.
Kane, adidas Golden Boot winner at the last FIFA World Cup, had treatment on the field early in the second half of England’s 6-2 win over Iran in Group-B on Monday after going down under a heavy challenge.
He went off after 75 minutes and was reportedly seen with light strapping on the ankle. He was eventually replaced Callum Wilson.
Kane trained the day after the Iran game but, according to reports, he sat out Wednesday’s closed session.
England manager Gareth Southgate said after Monday’s match: “I think Harry’s fine. It looked like a bad tackle but he carried on in the game. We took him off because we felt it was a moment in the game we could do that.”
The Tottenham striker has scored 51 goals in 76 appearances for the Three Lions.
