Dry weather to continue in Kashmir   

Srinagar: Tourist hotspots Pahalgam and Gulmarg are the coldest destinations in the Kashmir Valley. The Meteorological Department has forecast that dry weather will continue till the end of November.

“No forecast of any major snow spell till the end of November,” the MeT said on Monday.
Pahalgam in south Kashmir recorded minus 3.5 degrees Celsius on Monday, a dip of 1.5 degrees since a day ago.

Gulmarg recorded minus 3.4 degrees Celsius, a fall of 1.9 degrees below normal.
Cold with dry weather conditions continued in Srinagar and its adjoining areas even as the sun shone despite a mild fog and haze.

The night temperature improved several notches. It was 3.7 degrees Celsius on Monday against 0.6 degree Celsius recorded the previous day. Monday’s was a rise of 3.1 degrees above normal.

The maximum temperature was still minus 1.9 degree Celsius below normal against 15.1 degrees Celsius in Srinagar on Monday.

Qazigund recorded 3 degrees Celsius, Kukernag 3.4 degrees and Kashmir district minus 0.3 degree Celsius on Monday, the MeT office said.
