One detained for firing in AMU campus

Aligarh (UP): A youth was detained after two youths fired indiscriminately inside Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) on Saturday, an assistant proctor of the university said.
Assistant Proctor of AMU Syed Nawaz Zaid Ali said that around 12.30 noon two motorcycle-borne youths entered the campus and started threatening students sitting in front of the General Education Center (GEC) to which some senior students objected.
He said that initially the motorcycle-borne youths left the campus initially, but returned later and fired indiscriminately. “The youths have no connection with the AMU,” he said.
Meanwhile, police sources said that while one youth managed to escaped, another one identified as Shoaib alias Choba was nabbed from his flat in Jeevangarh. “An illicit fire-arm and two dozen cartridges were recovered from the possession of Shoaib. He is being quizzed by the police,” they said.
