Jammu: Army on Thursday foiled an infiltration bid and neutralised one terrorist along the Line of Control in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir, defence spokesman here said.
At about 10 am, alert troops of the Indian Army observed a suspicious movement of some individuals along the Line of Control in the Poonch sector, the spokersperson said.
“They were trying to infiltrate across the Line of Control, into the Indian side,” he said adding, “the troops challenged the infiltrators and the terrorists fired on own troops”.
In the ensuing fire fight, one terrorist was neutralised and the body was recovered along with two AK-47 rifles, one pistol and other war like stores.
“The operation continues and the search of the area is under progress,” he added.
