2 non locals injured in Anantnag attack
Srinagar: Two non locals were injured in a militant attack on Thursday evening in Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir, police said.
Militants shot and injured two non-locals, one from Bihar and another from Nepal, who were working at a private school at Bondialgam in Anantnag.

“Terrorist fired upon two outside labourers (01 from Bihar & second from Nepal), who were working at a private SAPS school at Bondialgam in Anantnag district. Both of them are being shifted to hospital,” a police tweet said.

Officials said soon after the incident, the area was cordoned and a massive search operation was launched to trace the attacker.

This the third attack on non locals and minorities in Kashmir in nearly three weeks.

On October 18, two non local migrant labourers from Uttar Pradesh were killed in an overnight grenade attack in Shopian district of Jammu and Kashmir. The attack came three days after a Kashmiri Pandit was shot dead in the district .
There has been a spurt in targeted attacks on non locals and minorities in the last few years, especially after the Centre scrapped J&K special status in August 2019. This year, 17 civilians including six non locals, three Kashmiri Pandits and three non Mulsims from J&K have been killed.
