Srinagar: Security forces arrested two “hybrid” militants of Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind (AGuH) arrested in Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir, police said.
They said arms and ammunition was recovered from their possession.
Police said the duo were arrested on a specific input.
“Based on specific input about movement of terrorists, a joint naka was established by Police along with Army (3RR) at Waghama-Opzan Road. During checking, the joint party apprehended 2 hybrid terrorists of proscribed terror outfit AGuH,” a police spokesman said.
They identified the two asTanveer Ahmad Bhat of Waghama Bijbehara and Tufail Ahmad Dar of Midora Tral.
“During search, 2 Pistols along with 2 magazines and 15 rounds were recovered from their possession,” he said.
Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of law was registered in Police Station Bijbehara and investigation was set into motion.
