Bomb explosion at Titagar school, no injury

Barrackpore: Panic struck industrial belt of Titagar in North 24 Parganas when an explosion on the terrace of a school happened while the classes were on forcing the authorities to take guards of the pupils as well as the teaching community, even as the forensic department
visited the spot to take samples for examinations, official sources said on Saturday.
However, there were no report of any casualty in the explosion of crude bomb at the rooftop, which reported around 11 am at the Free India High School, an Urdu medium co-ed school higher secondary institution at Titagar.
The roof-top was partially damaged, sources added.
The school authorities told the police that the crude bomb was hurled from outside.
The sudden explosion during classes triggered panic among students and the teachers,
they added.
The police are probing the incident. The reinforcement visited as panic struck in the area. The forensic experts visited there and examined the incident, they added.
” The roof of Free India High School at Titagar pm (North 24 Parganas) was blown off by a bomb blast. There have been several bomb blasts in this area before, but the police never played a
positive role,” BJP leader Dilip Ghosh alleged.
” .Can you imagine what would happen if the bomb fell in the school classroom? It would have endangered the lives of the students! The miscreants are gaining courage due to the Mamata
Govt’s dishonesty. Children are no longer safe at school,” Ghosh claimed.
