India made tremendous progress under PM Narendra Modi: Anurag Thakur

Hamirpur (HP): India has progressed a lot under the leadership of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi since 2014 and now it is known as a Super World power.

This was stated by Union Information and Broadcasting Minister, Anurag Thakur while attending a programme at Bumbloo village of the district to mark the 75 years of the formation of Himachal Pradesh on Tuesday.

He said that there was tremendous development in the state during the last four and half years and the party would sweep the next Vidhan Sabha elections to achieve the target of Mission-2022 with a massive majority.

Thakur had a dig at the Congress party over raising baseless issues and said that the Congress party was a divided house and would finish badly in the coming Vidhan sabha elections. He said that a party in which more than half a dozen senior leaders were vying for the post of Chief Minister could win the elections.

He said that on other hand, the BJP was a well knit organization and considered to be one of the largest democratically elected parties in World. He said that the party had its base at the grass roots and that would help it to win the coming elections with an ease.

The union minister exhorted the party cadre to fan out in the masses and expose the evil designs of the Congress party and other opposition parties and tell what the BJP had done for them during its regime despite the Corona pandemic.

Addressing the gathering at the 75 year celebrations, he said that the country is celebrating the nectar festival of independence. He said that it is necessary for the youth of today to know about the heroes who contributed to the freedom struggle.

He said that the tricolor was hoisted at every home of the citizens of the country and a new enthusiasm was seen among the people of the state towards the nation. He said that the state is known as Dev Bhoomi and Veer Bhoomi. Major Somnath of the state got the first Param Vir Chakra. Rifleman Sanjay Kumar and Capt Bikram Batra of the state also got the Param Vir Chakra.

He said that now items equipped with modern technology are being made in the country itself. About 2 lakh bulletproof jackets were provided to the Indian Army.

Thakur said that development is a continuous process. He said that whenever the BJP government came to power in the state, equal and balanced development of every district has been ensured.

He said that AIIMS in Bilaspur district, PGI Satellite Center at Una and Medical College at Hamirpur were set up to provide better health facilities to the people of the parliamentary constituency.

He called upon every section to do their duty to make a drug-free society, as well as cooperate with the government. He said that the glorious history of India must be shown to the children, so that India can become a great country.

He said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur, the state was moving towards continuous development. Eligible people are being benefited through various schemes. He said that the Chief Minister has provided 125 units of free electricity, free drinking water facility, 50 percent concession in fare to women in Himachal Road Transport buses in the state. He said that a free gas connection facility has been provided under Grihini Suvidha Yojana. He called upon the people to promote the use of local products.

The Union Minister also visited the exhibitions put up by various departments based on the 75th year of the establishment of Progressive Himachal.

Baldev Sharma, the district BJP chief on this occasion said that the double engine governments of the party had done excellent job for helping the people across the nation and had proved that the BJP was their benefactor.
