LeT hybrid militant, 2 associates arrested in Budgam

Srinagar: Security forces have arrested one more ‘hybrid’ militant allegedly involved in a grenade attack on minorities in Budgam district on Independence day.

Two “hybrid” militants of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) were already arrested in the case on Saturday.
“During further course of investigation of Budgam Police today arrested one more hybrid terrorist Suhail Ahmad Malik of Panzan Chadoora of prescribed outfit Lashkar who is involved in grenade attack on minorities,” a police spokesman said “ Incriminating material of Lashkar and one hand grenade has been recovered from the possession of the arrested hybrid terrorist.”
Police said further investigation into the said case is going on more arrests and recoveries are expected.
On Independence day, a minority community member was wounded in a grenade attack at Gopalpora Chadoora Budgam.
Meanwhile, two militant associates of LeT were also arrested in the Budgam district.
The two were identified by police as Shahnawaz Ahmad Bhat of Kralpora and Sameer Ahmad Najar of Gund chekpora Kanipora.
“Both arrested terror associates have been found involved in providing logistics and support to the active terrorists of LeT as well as transportation of arms and ammunition in Chadoora area of Budgam,” police said.
A case vide under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Chadoora investigation has been initiated.
