Bhubaneswar: Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday said many things which were said to be unachievable have been done by the BJP in the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and said the party would soon form government in Odisha,
“Many extraordinary things have been achieved by the BJP in the leadership of Narendra Modi… It used to be said that BJP is a party of the Hindi belt. Today have won all states of North East. Gujarat is also not a Hindi speaking state, Karnataka, Maharashtra have BJP governments. Soon Odisha will have a BJP govt too,” Shah said at an event in Bhubaneswar
Shah mentioned abrogation of Article 370 and 35A, and the Ram temple among the party’s achievements.
“August 5 has just passed… The whole country knew as long as Article 370 is there, Kashmir cannot be fully integrated in India. It looked like a dream that Article 370 would ever be removed,” Shah said.
“Our throats had dried out shouting ‘jaha hue balidaan Mukherjee wo Kashmir Hamara hai’ (The Kashmir where Mukherjee sacrificed himself, is ours.)
He was referring party ideologue Syama Prasad Mukherjee, who died in the custody of Jammu and Kashmir Police in 1953.

“The decision was taken suddenly on Aug 5 (2019) and Article 370 and 35A were uprooted. Some people used to say rivers of blood will flow, no one even dared to throw a pebble. Today Kashmir is peaceful,” said Shah.
“Faith of crores of people was at stake at the Ramjambhoomi. It was said rivers of blood will flow if the temple is constructed. It was again on Aug 5 that the foundation of the Ram temple was laid down,” he added.
Shah is on a two-day visit to Odisha.
