Flooding in Afghanistan kills 8 of family

Kabul: Eight members of a family in Afghanistan’s Nuristan province on Saturday reported to have died due to heavy rain and flash flood.
“Eight members of this family, including children and women, died due to floods. Only the father of the family survived,” Tolonews on quoted a resident of Nuristan as saying.
Another local resident urged the Taliban to build a bridge before the arrival of Eid as the bridge connecting Nuristan to Kunar was also destroyed due to the floods.
Heavy rains and flooding have killed nearly a dozen people in Parwan, Paktia, Wardak and the southern Kandahar province over the past couple of days, according to Xinhua.
