Jammu: The Jammu and Kashmir Director General of Police Dilbag Singh on Monday said that the terrorist captured by the brave villagers in Reasi district on Sunday, remained linked with a political party for a brief period.
Two Lashkar-e-Toiba terrorists were overpowered and nabbed by the residents of remote Tukson Dhok village in Reasi district on Sunday morning with arms and ammunition.
Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and DGP Dilbag Singh had announced rewards of Rs five lakh and Rs two lakh, respectively for the brave villagers.
“LeT terrorist Talib Hussain Shah remained associated with a political party for a brief period,” Singh told reporters on his visit to the village.
The arrested terrorist also posed himself as a mediaperson.
“Floating elements like Talib Hussain take advantage and cover themselves by remaining associated with political parties to continue with anti-national activities,” said the Police Chief, adding that he was being interrogated to ascertain the motive behind his association.
Two most-wanted LeT terrorists, namely Talib Hussain Shah and and his associate Faisal Ahmad Dar of Pulwama, were captured by the villagers on Sunday morning.
Talib was also the mastermind behind a recent series of explosions in Rajouri district.
Two AK rifles, one pistol, seven grenades and a large quantity of ammunition were recovered from them and on their disclosure, a hideout was busted this morning and more weapons were recovered.
Some pictures reportedly also went viral on social media, purportedly showing the arrested LeT terrorist with some J&K BJP leaders posing for photograph, besides a letter issued to him by one local leader Sheikh Bashir on May 9 appointing him as IT and social media in-charge of the party’s Minority Morcha for Jammu province.
