Patna: BJP on Monday sought support from opposition parties in Bihar for NDA presidential candidate Draupadi Murmu coming in the state on Tuesday, saying a tribal woman should be supported by all for top post of the country.
Bihar Labour Minister and senior BJP leader Jeevesh Kumar told media persons here that all opposition parties in Bihar should support NDA presidential candidate Draupadi Murmu, who is coming to the state on Tuesday for campaigning.
Murmu is a tribal woman and also a dynamic personality who should be extended support by all opposition parties in Bihar, he added.
Kumar, also in-charge of NDA for the presidential election in Bihar, said that women legislators of opposition parties were willing to extend their support to Murmu. It would be a good gesture if as women, they extended support to the candidature of Murmu, he noted.
The Minister said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP president J P Nadda deserved kudos for their choice to make Murmu, the NDA presidential candidate. It was their commitment to give respect to a tribal woman by choosing her as the presidential candidate of NDA, he pointed out.
