DRDO to partner with SPW university in research

Tirupati: Defence Research Development Organisation (DRDO) intends to partner with the Sri Padmavati Women’s University Tirupati in research and projects and also provide internships .

DRDO Chairman G Satish Reddy disclosed this on Saturday evening while inaugurating the Endowment of inspired personalities on the promotion of innovation and enterprises that DRDO was keen to partner with the university which had set records of 51 patents in last 2 years and possessed 12 professors who were among 100 professors in world index of research.

Earlier, Tirupati Member of Parliament (MP) Dr M Gurumoorthy inaugurated the Digital infrastructure for teaching and Learning and research at the university.

He urged students of the University to utilise the window of opportunity provided by DRDO for research and higher studies..

Speaking on the occasion Tirupati MP said the Sri Padmavati Women’s University was recognised for its digital infrastructure at all departments.

He said of the four projects proposed by the university in the biotechnology department, DRDO has already approved two projects and two more awaiting clearance.

Vice chancellor of university D Jamuna, Registrar Mamata, faculty and students of university and staff were present.
